Dell offers a wide range of reliable data storage, back-up, protection and consolidation solutions. The PowerVault RD1000 is an entry-level device for the backup of individual tower or rack servers. It can be rack mounted and offers removable back up capabilities with easy offsite storage and portability. The PowerVault DL2000, either powered by Commvbault or Symantec, is ideal for small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) and organizations that need to manage backups with limited IT support. Another advantage of the PowerVault DL2000, which has up to 144 terabytes of useable disk space, is that it supports Windows as well as Linux and Unix applications.
When it comes to network storage and backup, Dell has developed various solutions to meet changing requirements. The EMC CX4-480, which forms part of the Dell/EMC SAN storage solutions series, is designed for very heavy transaction processing and able to transfer large block data at high speed. It can host up to 1024 servers. The EMC CX4-120 on the other hand is a cost-efficient device for moderate to heavy transaction processing.
Another range of disk back up devices by Dell is the EqualLogic PS Series. This is a virtualized iSCSI SAN that combines intelligence and automation with fault tolerance. The aim is to provide you simplified administration, rapid deployment, enterprise performance and reliability, and seamless scalability. The newest server in this range is the Dell EqualLogic PS4000.
