HP has announced a voluntary recall of six million AC power cords as they could pose a fire and burn hazard. These cords where shipped with HP and Compaq laptops and docking stations sold between September 2010 and June 2012.

The suspect part is the cord that connects the power adapter to the outlet. This cord will have the imprint “LS-15” on the plug that connects to the adapter.

If you have an LS-15 cord, HP recommends you stop using it and request a free replacement.
